“4 years and countless happy moments” – Kelly Piquet shares social media post with Max Verstappen

Red Bull driver Max Verstappen’s girlfriend Kelly Piquet shared a romantic picture with the Dutch driver this week, on the occasion of their fourth anniversary. The reigning three-time world champion is currently at the top of his game, having dominated the sport for the last couple of years.

The 27-year-old is doing well both on and off the track and prioritizes spending his time away from the track with his family and friends. Kelly Piquet, the daughter of the former three-time world champion Nelson Piquet Sr., has been a constant presence in the Dutchman’s life since late 2020 when the pair began dating.

The 35-year-old took to her Instagram stories to post a couple of pictures with Max Verstappen on the occasion of their fourth anniversary as a couple. She wrote in the caption,

The pair live in Monaco at Verstappen’s home in the Principality with Piquet’s five-year-old daughter Penelope, who she shares with former Red Bull driver Daniil Kvyat.

Kelly Piquet defends Max Verstappen after Mexico GP penalties

Kelly Piquet extended her support for boyfriend Max Verstappen after the latter had a difficult and controversial race at the Mexican Grand Prix last weekend where he finished sixth after getting a 20-second penalty.

The Red Bull driver received a lot of flak from fans and pundits for his driving in Mexico City against Lando Norris. The 27-year-old summarized his day on his Instagram post and said he was looking “onward to Brazil.” In the comments., Piquet wrote,

“They can try to stop you but they won’t succeed.”

Max Verstappen has been hampered by the RB20’s lack of performance in the latter half of the 2024 season in his title defense against Lando Norris. This was once again evident at the iconic Interlagos track as he could only manage a P4 in the Sprint Shootout while Norris missed out on the pole by 0.029s, to his teammate Oscar Piastri.

Speaking with F1.com, the 61-time race winner said:

“As soon as we went into Sprint qualifying it looked like we were off. It was a bit difficult with the bumps and I feel like the resurfacing has made it more difficult to drive. It was extremely bumpy which isn’t great for our car as it was jumping around a lot and unfortunately costing us quite a bit of lap time.”For tomorrow, I don’t think we are the strongest in the race, so will have to see how that goes in the Sprint. Of course, the weather might have an impact, but we will have to wait and see. We have a bit more work to do.”

Max Verstappen has won every single Sprint race this season and has secured pole position in three of the four Sprint Shootouts.
