Lewis Hamilton Breaks Silence on Ferrari F1 Sacking Rumors: Is a New Team Lining Up for 2026?

Lewis Hamilton has firmly shut down speculation that Ferrari are preparing to part ways with him after a difficult start to his debut season with the Italian giants in 2025. Following a string of disappointing results and growing pressure from Italian media, rumors swirled that the seven-time world champion could be on the verge of a shocking early exit.

But Hamilton has now responded directly to the reports.

“I’m not going anywhere,” Hamilton told reporters after the Spanish Grand Prix. “People forget this is a long-term project. It’s not going to happen overnight. I came to Ferrari to build something special, not just chase headlines after nine races.”

Hamilton currently sits sixth in the drivers’ championship, trailing teammate Charles Leclerc by 23 points and still without a podium finish in a red car. Frustrations peaked in Barcelona, where he described his SF-25 as “the worst it’s ever been,” sparking further concerns inside and outside the team.

Despite the growing tension, Hamilton insists that he’s committed to Ferrari and pushing forward.

“I believe in this team. Yes, there have been tough moments, but that’s part of the journey. I’ve faced worse and come back stronger. I’m still hungry and nothing’s changed about my goals here.”

Ferrari team boss Fred Vasseur has declined to comment publicly on Hamilton’s future but emphasized that the team is focused on long-term success, particularly with the looming 2026 regulation overhaul.

Still, some insiders claim that if tensions persist, Hamilton could become a surprise candidate for other teams, including Aston Martin or even a potential return to Mercedes, depending on how the driver market shakes out before the 2026 season.

For now, Hamilton remains a Ferrari driver—but the next few races could determine just how secure his place at Maranello truly is.
