The Weeping Woman returns—and this time, she’s not alone.
Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema have just released the first trailer for The Curse of La Llorona: Chapter 3 (2025), plunging fans back into the terrifying folklore of the Latin American legend. The new chapter stars Ana de Armas, marking her chilling debut in the Conjuring Universe as a mother haunted by more than just grief.
Set in 1950s Mexico City, the film follows Elena Marquez (de Armas), a young widow whose daughter begins exhibiting strange behavior after a near-drowning. When whispers of La Llorona return to her neighborhood, Elena must confront an ancestral curse—and the horrifying truth behind her family’s legacy.
Directed by Michael Chaves, Chapter 3 promises more atmospheric dread, supernatural horror, and expanded mythology connecting it to The Nun and Annabelle franchises.
The trailer offers glimpses of shadowy alleyways, ghostly apparitions in mirrors, and the eerie voice of La Llorona echoing through flooded ruins. A priest (played by Tenoch Huerta) warns: “She never left. She just found a new name to cry.”
The film is produced by James Wan and Peter Safran, continuing their collaboration on the dark cornerstones of the Conjuring Universe.
The Curse of La Llorona: Chapter 3 is set to haunt theaters on October 10, 2025, just in time for Halloween season.
