In a dramatic escalation of military operations, India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, targeting alleged terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir. This decisive action follows the tragic Belgum terrorist attack on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, including Indian and Nepali nationals. India has directly linked the attack to Pakistan-based militant groups, prompting a swift and powerful military response.

The Indian Armed Forces deployed an advanced arsenal of weaponry to ensure operational superiority and precision strikes against nine terrorist camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Among the key assets utilized were the Rafael fighter jets, renowned for their stealth capabilities and precision weaponry, which played a crucial role in neutralizing high-value targets. The operation also featured the scalp EG cruise missile, capable of striking targets up to 550 kilometers away, delivering explosive payloads with pinpoint accuracy thanks to its advanced guidance systems.

In addition to these aerial strikes, the Indian military employed AASM hammer precision-guided bombs, which allowed for versatile and accurate targeting of medium-range threats. The use of kamikaze drones, designed to hover and self-destruct upon impact, further underscores India’s commitment to minimizing collateral damage while effectively neutralizing terrorist threats.

Artillery support came from the M7 howitzers, paired with Excalibur precision-guided shells, enabling precise indirect fire from near the Line of Control. This coordinated assault, combining air and ground forces, aims to suppress enemy movements and dismantle terrorist networks with minimal civilian casualties.

As tensions rise in the region, Operation Sindoor marks a significant demonstration of India’s military capabilities and resolve in the face of terrorism. The world watches closely as the situation unfolds, with implications that could reverberate far beyond the borders of South Asia.
