Finally! The FASTEST Combat Boat CB90 has been upgraded!

The CB90 combat boat, renowned for its speed and versatility, has undergone a significant upgrade, reinforcing its status as a premier vessel for modern naval operations. Developed by the Swedish company Dockstavarvet, the CB90 was originally introduced in the late 1980s to replace outdated naval assets. With its recent enhancements, the boat is set to redefine the capabilities of fast attack and troop transport vessels.

The upgraded variant, known as the CB90 NG (Next Generation), boasts an impressive maximum speed exceeding 40 knots, making it one of the fastest boats in its class. The new design features advanced combat management systems, improved surveillance sensors, and enhanced ballistic protection, all while maintaining its lightweight aluminum construction. This upgrade allows for greater operational efficiency and crew comfort, crucial for missions in challenging environments.

Historically, the CB90 has proven itself in various roles, from amphibious assaults to reconnaissance missions. Its ability to transport up to 21 fully armed soldiers and nearly five tons of cargo makes it an invaluable asset for naval forces. The boat’s unique drop bow system facilitates rapid troop deployment, while its dual water jets ensure exceptional maneuverability, even in shallow waters.

Internationally, the CB90 has garnered interest from multiple navies, with over 250 units currently in service. Countries like Norway, Greece, and Mexico have adapted the vessel to meet their specific operational needs, showcasing its versatility and reliability. Notably, the U.S. Navy has utilized a modified version for riverine operations, highlighting the boat’s global appeal.

As the CB90 NG enters service, its upgrades promise to enhance maritime security and operational readiness for navies around the world. The ongoing evolution of the CB90 underscores the importance of adaptability in modern naval warfare, ensuring that this formidable vessel remains at the forefront of maritime operations.
