Daphne’s return to The Bold and the Beautiful is exactly what the show needed.
Hope and Carter are blissfully happy and engaged to be married. Liam gave the couple his blessing before undergoing a miracle brain surgery. All signs are pointing to a splashy romantic wedding on The Bold and the Beautiful, which is why Murielle Hilaire’s return as Daphne Rose is perfectly timed and exactly what the show needed.
Lady Lust
Originally hired by Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) to come between Hope (Annika Noelle) and Carter (Lawrence Saint Victor), Daphne helped derail the pair during her first run at Forrester Creations. She snuggled up to Carter every chance she got and titillated him with a few soft kisses. Aiding Daphne’s cause was the fact that she felt hard for the sensitive Carter, an A-plus good guy with a six-pack to match.
Although she tried to seduce Carter away from Hope, he remained true to her during the turbulent stretches of their relationship and refused to stray. When the duo ultimately reconciled, a devastated Daphne left town unwilling to watch Carter and Hope together and knowing in her heart that they weren’t meant to be.
Timing’s EverythingWhile some might say Hope and Carter are more solid than ever now—they’re engaged and about to start planning a wedding—the situation around them is anything but. Liam (Scott Clifton) is suddenly alive and well, and given how close he and Hope became when they believed he only had a few months to live, their connection has been reignited. They realized the depth of their feelings for each other and that their love had never died. It was always there, lying beneath the surface
Those reignited feelings are bound to weigh heavily on Hope and Liam as the weeks pass, Liam slowly heals, and gets back to living his life. Despite Hope’s engagement to another man, Liam’s bound to question if her future shouldn’t really be with him. And Hope’s sure to question if marrying Carter is the right thing to do, considering her love for Liam.
Enter Daphne
Knowing the intuitive Daphne, she’ll quickly pick up on the complicated feelings around her, particularly the revived dynamic between Hope and Liam. Considering her love and respect for Carter, she won’t want to see him hurt. So she’ll likely keep her eyes on the situation, let things play out naturally, and, in the process, realize that things may finally work out to her advantage.
If and when Hope and Liam decide they’re destined to be together, Daphne can be there as a soft landing spot for Carter. She can help him pick up the pieces if Hope ends their engagement to reconcile with her ex-husband.
It would finally give Daphne the opportunity she’s been waiting for to get Carter to see that she’s the one woman who only has eyes for him and is the one he’s truly meant to spend his future with.
