The 77-year-old star shared in a new interview, ‘It’s really interesting because one day I get to be on the set, the next day I get to be here doing this Hollywood Christmas parade, and then I get to serve coffee at 35,000 feet.’

‘You don’t forget who you are that way. It keeps you grounded,’ she explained to Us Weekly.

Linder has played Esther Valentine on the long-running soap opera, which marked its 50th season this year, since 1982.

‘We just aired our 13,000th episode, and I was so honored to be part of that,’ she gushed to the outlet.

‘It’s over 42 years and counting for me. I’m just absolutely thrilled,’ the television star added.

When she’s not busy working on her lines or filming the show, she takes to the skies, where passengers on her flights sometimes recognize her.

She recalled a particular memory, sharing, ‘I was standing at the gate ready to get on a plane, and this woman looked at me and she said, “Kate Linder? No, you’re not.”

‘And I said, “I was when I woke up. So something’s wrong. I don’t know what’s wrong.” She couldn’t believe that I was going to be working that flight. And she ended up being on that flight.’

Kate doesn’t take either of her jobs for granted.

‘I’ve seen a lot of people that sometimes believe their own press,’ she opened up. ‘I feel so very fortunate to do what I do.’

The Hollywood vet emphasized, ‘This is all I’ve ever wanted to do. No one in my family was in the business, so it was always like taking one step forward and two steps back, and yet, how fortunate and how lucky am I?’

Her character Esther is a receptionist and coffee shop manager on the series, and Kate said she looks forward to seeing how she progresses.

‘I have all these jobs but Sharon’s in trouble right now, and Esther is extremely worried about it,’ she said in reference to another role on the show.

‘There’s all kinds of great stuff coming up,’ she teased.

Linder can be spotted in the upcoming Hollywood Christmas Parade when it airs on The CW Network December 14 at 8pm eastern.

Last week she volunteered with Los Angeles Mission to feed the homeless alongside Joe Manganiello and other stars, including Ben Affleck and JenniferGarner.

She later shared outtakes on Instagram and wrote that she ‘had fun serving everyone.’

Engaging her thousands of followers, she added, ‘#happythanksgivng2024.’
