Look back at Phyllis’ journey and see where she’s at now.
Phyllis hasn’t fully recovered from all that’s happened to her in recent years. She’s experienced more lows than highs on The Young and the Restless. As the September 5 episode tease another big moment for Phyllis, let’s look back at her journey and where it’s led her now.
Desire For Revenge
In 2022, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford, who recently shared her son’s hilarious reaction to his Daytime Emmy invite) learned that Diane (Susan Walters) was very much alive and had faked her death for years. Diane claimed that she was a changed woman, but Phyllis still couldn’t trust her. So, she became obsessed with getting revenge on her. Phyllis teamed up with Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) to drive Diane out of town. Unfortunately, that didn’t work because Diane was very much sticking around.
Fake Death
Phyllis’ life was turned up another notch. At first, it seemed like she was 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed in a fiery ambulance crash. However, she faked her death with the help of Jeremy Stark (James Hyde), who was Phyllis’ husband. The two thought they had the perfect plan going for them.
However, Stark’s threats and demands were too much for Phyllis to deal with. In a state of insanity, she stabbed him with scissors. Phyllis revealed to her daughter, Summer (Allison Lanier), that she was alive and well. But she begged her not to tell anyone, which led to the demise of her marriage to Kyle (Michael Mealor).
Summer didn’t listen to her mother and eventually told her brother, Daniel (Michael Graziadei), who informed everyone about his mom’s death plot. Phyllis worked hard to redeem herself in the eyes of everyone, even her former friends and enemies. But this is something that’s still on their minds to this day. Phyllis lost everyone’s trust.
Car Crash Shocker
The hits kept on coming for Phyllis. She got clingy and desperate in her pursuit of Danny (Michael Damian), who ended up with Cricket (Lauralee Bell). Needless to say, Phyllis didn’t take their reconciliation well. On New Year’s Eve, she pretended to go on a date with Tucker (Trevor St. John) to make Danny jealous, which didn’t work.
She also chased her exes, Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Billy (Jason Thompson), who were simultaneously turned off and scared of her. In November 2024, Phyllis ended up in a car wreck that left her unconscious and in critical condition. Her kids thought they were going to lose their mom this time around. Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Ray Wise) were behind the crash, as they were trying to get revenge on The Newmans.
The explosive car crash led Sharon (Sharon Case) to confess to Nick (Joshua Morrow) about Heather (Vail Bloom). She claimed that she murdered her and threw her body in the river, but it was revealed that Ian and Jordan were the ones responsible for her gruesome murder. They messed with Sharon’s medication and drove her to insanity, thinking she was responsible.
Phyllis got involved because she couldn’t trust Sharon. The gruesome twosome used their decades-long feud to heighten the drama. Phyllis warned Nick about Sharon and speculated whether she 𝓀𝒾𝓁𝓁ed Heather. She was determined to get justice for Daniel.
Business, Not Personal
Earlier this year, Phyllis and Sharon were kidnapped by Alan Laurent (Christopher Cousins), who was leading Traci (Beth Maitland) on. He made her think he was his twin brother, who was a psychiatrist and friend of Ashley’s. They made peace with their past and became friends.
But the trauma wound reopened in Nice, when they were trapped at Cane’s (Billy Flynn) French estate. Cane revealed himself as Aristotle Dumas. Yet, that didn’t stop Phyllis from wanting to work with him. She believes they would make a powerful team, even with her tech know-how. After reading about artificial intelligence, Phyllis is confident about taking over everybody’s businesses in Genoa City. But now Cane doesn’t want anything to do with her. So, what will Phyllis do next?
