“Wrestling Legend Predicts John Cena’s Empire Will Surpass Dwayne Johnson’s $800M, Saying ‘He’ll Be Even Greater Than The Rock’”
John Cena and Dwayne Johnson, two renowned WWE champions, have seamlessly transitioned into becoming action stars in Hollywood. While Dwayne Johnson’s breakthrough came with his role in “The Mummy Returns,” John Cena’s cinematic journey started with “The Marine” in 2006. Both actors have since starred in major commercial blockbusters, even venturing into the realm of DC superheroes, with Johnson taking on Black Adam and Cena portraying the Peacekeeper.
Given their similar career trajectories in both sports and Hollywood, there has always been a friendly yet intense rivalry between the two for supremacy. Former WWE legend Eric Bischoff, who has closely witnessed the careers of Johnson and Cena, has expressed his opinion on which star will dominate the film industry.
WWE athletes John Cena and Dwayne Johnson successfully transitioned from the wrestling ring to the silver screen after illustrious wrestling careers. Competing with each other both in the ring and in their respective fan followings, it begs the question: who is the better actor in Hollywood? Eric Bischoff, a former veteran wrestling champion and WWE Hall of Famer, believes that John Cena could have a brighter future in Hollywood, even though Johnson preceded him. Bischoff stated, “John, you know he may not be at that Rock status yet. I don’t know if he will be or maybe he’ll be bigger than Rock, who knows what the future holds. But he’s a hell of an actor. He’s having a tremendous amount of success in the movie industry.”
Bischoff supported his hypothesis by highlighting Cena’s ability to observe, learn, and follow instructions, which gives him an upper hand in understanding the roles assigned to him as an actor.
One of Cena’s recent film collaborations involves an exciting partnership with martial arts veteran Jackie Chan in the action thriller “Hidden Strike.” The film, released on July 6th, showcases an unlikely pairing between Chan and Cena, drawing significant interest from audiences. Not only does it offer distinct action styles from the two stars, but it also presents challenges for Cena, who had no prior experience with the intricate stunts for which Jackie Chan is famous. Cena confessed that it was one of the most demanding experiences for him, stating, “They just wanted me to kick over my head.”
Additionally, Cena revealed that he found lifting weights far easier than executing complicated martial arts moves. The strenuous three-month training regimen for the film caused him to lose over 20 pounds. Despite the hardships, Cena found the experience fruitful and a great opportunity to learn something new.
It’s worth noting that John Cena’s journey in the WWE also involved participating in “dark matches,” which are matches that are not televised. Cena reflected on these experiences, where he would be mocked by the audience, saying, “Matches that no one sees on TV.”
