Humans then improved their strategy once again.

They did not simply react to danger; they planned for it. Scouts watched the surrounding landscape before the group settled for the night. Sleeping areas were carefully chosen near rocks, cliffs, or elevated ground where surprise attacks became more difficult. Escape routes were always considered.
