Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi were both named as several Man Utd stars named their idols in the game.
Manchester United players Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Lisandro Martinez have been naming their football idols, with some familiar names unsurprisingly cropping up.
Mount named Luke Modric alongside Barcelona legends Xavi and Iniesta as his favourite players to watch. United fans will be hoping the 24-year-old takes inspiration from three of the greatest of recent times.
“I like to watch Luka Modric,” he said. “Then there are Xavi and Iniesta.”

Bruno Fernandes opted for Ronaldinho as the footballer that made him fall in love with the game. Rashford went for United legend Cristiano Ronaldo and Martinez chose Lionel Messi.
Amongst the other topics were the player’s cheat day food and their top playlist song right now. Mount chose Five Guys while Rashford went for Caribbean food.
Mount has already formed a strong friendship with Fernandes off the pitch. The captain is excited about what the Englishman can bring to United’s midfield.
“We need players with that kind of aggression and passion, we need players to be like that in the games,” Fernandes said.
“These are the kind of players that I like to play against and even more to have in my side so I am happy he is here now. And now instead of me on the side of David, it’s me on the side of Mason defending him from someone else. Now he is on my side and I will do everything I can to defend him.”
