Bryson DeChambeau announces latest ‘Break 50’ episode with $300 million LIV Golf star

Bryson DeChambeau regularly hosts a show on his YouTube channel in which he and a guest, which has ranged from John Daly to Donald Trump, try and break 50 in a round of golf. This time, he’s calling in the support of one of golf’s most accomplished players and one of LIV Golf’s most notable names: Phil Mickelson.

The $300 million worth golfer (per Celebrity Net Worth) is expected to join DeChambeau to film one of the last episodes of the first season of the YouTube show. He has yet to actually break 50, but he is hopeful that Mickelson can help him get it done.

The 2024 US Open champion wrote on X:

“One of the final Break 50 episodes of Season 1 dropping tomorrow. Called in Phil Mickelson to help me try and finally get it done… What do you think we shoot?”

So far, DeChambeau and a partner have tried nine times and failed to break 50 in an 18-hole round. They play best ball, meaning they each take a shot and play the better one of the two from there.

Other guests include Good Good’s Garrett Clark (three times), Grant Horvat, Paige Spiranac, Sergio Garcia, and Martin Borgmeier. Now, Mickelson will join the fray and try to finish the season on a high.

Both Bryson DeChambeau and Phil Mickelson, the latter a longtime playing partner of Bradley in many Presidents Cups, praised the choice for Bradley to run things next time. Mickelson admitted that he was surprised at first.

“I think it’s a great pick the more I think about it. He played a lot of golf at Bethpage when he went to St. Johns. His passion for the Ryder Cup is greater than just about any player I’ve ever seen. His love for the Ryder Cup is more than anybody I know. I think he’s going to lead with that type of passion.”Bryson DeChambeau was also full of praise:

“I think it’s a great opportunity for him, especially as it relates to younger players. He’s going to see that younger threshold, and obviously relate to them a lot more, I would say, because of his age. I mean, what is he, 38 or something like that? So yeah, he’s seeing the younger generation’s game. He’s out there still playing and competing, and it’s great to have some relatability.”Mickelson also added that he was “really happy” for Bradley. The golfer added that “knowing how gut-wrenching it was to not be part of the team last year” only makes this decision even sweeter.
