‘The Young and the Restless’ Cast Shake-Up Adds ‘Days of Our Lives’ Star For Recast Role

The soap hopping continues at The Young and the Restless as the CBS soap adds a Days of Our Lives star to the show. It seems like something is going down behind the scenes at Y&R as another casting shocker has been revealed.

Days of Our Lives alum Lucas Adams (ex-Tripp) has signed on in a recast role. This comes hot on the heels of Billy Flynn leaving the Peacock soap to play a Cane recast on The Young and the Restless.

Soap Opera Digest was the first to break the news that Adams will play Noah Newman. That’s right, the role previously played byGeneral Hospital’s Rory Gibson.

Noah is the son of soap legends Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case), making him another member of the infamous Newman family.

The last time fans saw Noah, he left town with Allie (Kelsey Wang) as they headed to London. Noah has been mentioned more than once lately, but a recast was a bit shocking.

Ironically, this isn’t Adams’ first time on the CBS soap. Adams had a one-day stint in 2012 playing a character named Wesley. In 2017, Adams landed his breakout role of Tripp on Days of Our Lives.

Tripp was the long-lost son of Steve (Stephen Nichols) and Ava (Tamara Braun). The character was on the show on and off for years until Tripp left town with Wendy (Victoria Grace) in 2024. Adams earned two Daytime Emmy Awards for his portrayal of Tripp on the hit Peacock soap.

In an interesting turn of events, Adams will reunite with her former on-screen mom, Braun, on Y&R. As Parade reported, news that Braun was also joining the show broke last week.

Adams and Braun aren’t the only casting shockers taking place on The Young and the Restless. General Hospital alum Roger Howarth has signed on to play a mystery role on the CBS show.

These changes come hot on the heels of an actor swap between Y&R and Days. After Flynn debuted on The Young and the Restless as Cane, it was announced thatConner Floyd (Chance) had left the show for a gig at Days of Our Lives playing Chad, the role Flynn used to play.

There is so much happening behind the scenes on the hit CBS soap. Adams, Howarth, and Braun will debut on the show this fall.

Although an official premiere date for each has yet to be revealed, it’s a safe bet they will all appear on-screen near or during November sweeps.

Days of Our Lives airs weekdays on Peacock. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
