Margot Robbie stunned the crowd at the Los Angeles premiere of Barbie on Sunday, as she stepped out on the pink carpet wearing four diamond necklaces.

The stacked stones which elevated the Hollywood star’s 1960s vintage Barbie look are worth an eye watering $1.5million, according to leading diamond experts.

Maxwell Stone of UK retailer Steven Stone revealed the diamonds come in an array of cuts with a carat weight estimated to be well over a million AUD.

‘Custom made by Lorraine Schwartz, the necklaces feature an array of different diamond cuts, with the top two pieces formed of purely round cut diamonds, which are the most popular diamond shape,’ he said.

‘The most interesting is the bottom necklace, which consists of halo cut diamonds in an assortment of cuts – including emerald, heart, pear, marquise and oval.’

Maxwell went on to say he would ‘estimate the necklaces to have a total value of around $1.5 million AUD ($1 million USD)’.

After donning pink for the last several premieres, two-time Oscar nominee Margot, 33, opted for not-so-basic black to dazzle the star-studded world premiere held at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in downtown Los Angeles.

The Aussie actor worked with stylist Andrew Mukamal to recreate the trumpet Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown, matching Manolo Blahnik peep-toe kitten heels and opera gloves from the original 1960 ‘Solo in the Spotlight’ Barbie doll.

She even rocked the same metallic shimmer, stiff tulle hemline, and red rose embellishment on the frilly frock.

Hairstylist Bryce Scarlett coiffed Margot’s voluminous faux ponytail for the pink carpet ceremony, using tools from Tangle Teezer and products from Redken to achieve the perfect ’60s-style hairdo.

Make-up artist Pati Dubroff ditched the blue eyeshadow on the doll and instead brought out Robbie’s brows, applied pink blush to her cheekbones, and a bright red pout.

While the full reviews aren’t in quite yet, the reactions that have surfaced on Twitter are largely quite positive.

It’s unclear when the full reviews will surface, as fans get ready for the theatrical release on July 21, going up against Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer.

Katcy Stephan, Variety’s social media editor, was among the first to post a reaction to the film on social media, stating it was nothing short of ‘perfection.

‘#Barbie is perfection. Greta Gerwig delivers a nuanced commentary on what it means to be a woman in a whimsical, wonderful and laugh-out-loud funny romp,’ Katcy said.

‘The entire cast shines, especially Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in roles they were clearly 𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐧 to play.’
