Fans are loving Robert Downey Jr and Tom Holland reuniting in new trailer for upcoming film Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr couldn’t contain his excitement when sharing the trailer for upcoming release, Dolittle – and neither can we after seeing it.

The Ironman star took to Instagram to share the brand new trailer for the celeb-filled new film, due to be released on 17 January 2020.

‘Dolittle Trailer,’ he wrote in the caption to the two-minute long preview video: ‘I’ve been talking to animals for years now… And they finally started talking back.

‘Does this mean I was getting the silent treatment?’ he joked.

The trailer features a moving cover of Louis Armstrong’s 1967 hit What a Wonderful World, cut together with the massive adventure Dr Dolittle embarks upon, taking him across seas and plains – some even while riding on the back of an ostrich.

One fan wrote: ‘Freaking love the trailer! Can’t wait to see the movie.’

While another remarked on the fact Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr are in the same movie since appearing alongside each other in Avengers.

They wrote: ‘How am I not surprised that [Tom Holland] is also in this movie?’

Another commented: ‘Tom Holland? Mr. Stark and Peter [Parker] reunited!’

The official synopsis revealed: ‘After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company.

‘But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley, Wild Rose) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.’
